My Dream is Now My Reality!
For the past thirty-four years as a coach, I have used my talents and passion to help others achieve their dreams.
On September 3, 2023, I set off from Portsmouth, England to do the same for myself, and just under eleven months later, on July 28, 2024, I returned to Portsmouth having completed an around-the-world sailing circumnavigation.
From as far back as my childhood memories go, sailing around the world has been a dream of mine. As a child, I devoured a book authored by Robin Knox-Johnston about his journey to be the first person to sail around the world alone, non-stop, and unassisted!
I was spellbound as I read the account of this amazing adventure.
Some forty-plus years later, with Robin’s story still planted in my imagination, I applied and was accepted to participate in the 2023-24 Clipper Round the World Race. A fun fact... this race was created by the very same Robin Knox-Johnston that had inspired me in the first place. Robin is currently eighty-two years old and will be at the start line to send us off on September 3rd … I love how the universe works!
RACE SCHEDULE
There are eleven identical boats, each with 18-20 crew members, and we'll compete in a series of legs, each taking 3-5 weeks of continuous 24-7 sailing to complete, taking us from the UK, around the globe, and back to the UK.
The race will take eleven months, and we'll cover over 42,000 miles at sea, crossing all of the oceans and touching down for short stays on six of seven continents (sorry, Antarctica!).
Our course, expected arrival dates and confirmed departure dates.. The best time to come and see us will be the two days prior to departure.
